Community Development

Located in the heart of the St. John Valley, directly across from Edmundston, New Brunswick, Canada with an international Port of Entry accustomed to commerce and located on iconic Route 1, Madawaska is a great place to locate your business and your family.  Madawaska has breath-taking vistas, boasts four seasons of recreational access and venues.

Community Development provides assistance to local businesses to expand their services through gap financing and grant funding or through the Madawaska UDAG loan program. The office welcomes and encourages new business growth and administers and supports various local, state and federal programs that can benefit the community.
Madawaska's grant opportunities are administered by NMDC (Northern Maine Development Commission) under the guidance of the Town Manager.

For more information on how to receive assistance to open, retain or expand on an existing business, contact Community Development at (207)728-6315.
