PRE-SCHOOL CAMP  (ages 4 & 5)

 

This Tiny-Tots Program promotes fun and enjoyment for children (ages 4 & 5), through singing, storytime, crafts, nature exploration and field trips.  These morning sessions are a perfect way for your child to grow socially with peers and caring staff.  Participants must be completely toilet-trained.

Junior camp   (Ages 6 & 7)

 

            Join us for a summer filled with fun and laughter and life long memories.  Daily activities will include games, sports, arts & crafts, nature walks, field trips and special events.  Our program is supervised by a qualified and diverse staff who provide participants with the opportunity to have fun in an active, yet safe atmosphere.

SENIOR CAMP (Ages 8 - 13)

 

            Like our Jr. Camp.  Daily activities will include games, sports, arts & crafts, nature walks, field trips and special events, specifically designed for their ages level.  Our program is supervised by a qualified and diverse staff who provide participants with the opportunity to have fun in an active, yet safe atmosphere.

 

*** EACH CAMP WILL BE INDIVIDUALLY SUPERVISED BY AN ADULT LEADER AND CO-RUN BY A VERY PROFECIENT SCHOOL/COLLEGE AGE STAFF.

 

FEE:  MADAWASKA RESIDENT  $ 10.00    NON-RESIDENT   $ 15.00

   * fee includes all Wacky Wednesday activities with the exception of the Water Slides

 

 

HERSHEY TRACK & FIELD

 

LOCAL COMPETITION:  in Madawaska --- June 12  

COUNTY COMPETITION : in Caribou ---   June 22

STATE COMPETITION:  in Brewer ----       July 7

FEE:          Free (Pre Registration is Required)                       

AGES:       9 – 14 years old

 

          Youth 9 – 14 years old will compete on June 12 at 10:00 am at the Madawaska Multi-Purpose Center.  Events include the 50-meter dash, 400-meter dash, 800-meter run, 4x100-meter relay, standing long jump, and softball throw.  Participants can enter 3 events (either two track and one field or two field and one track event).  The top three qualifiers in their respective age divisions will then compete in Caribou on June 22.  Two winners in each division advance to the State Meet to be held in Brewer on July 7.           . 

          Bring your own lunch, transportation is provided.

Pre-register by June 11, 2004 at 3:00PM.

The Director, Matt Rossignol, Head Coach of Madawaska Owls Varsity Basketball Team has been around basketball his whole life and has participated as player or coach in many of best camps in the Eastern United States.  He is confident the Madawaska Owls Basketball Camp will offer the finest in quality basketball instructions as can be found in the State of Maine.

       MAINE MARITIME ACADEMY BASKETBALL CAMP

    Held at the Madawaska High School Gymnasium

 

 June 22-23, 2004

                               FOR GIRLS ENTERING GRADES 5 - 11

                                                     Cost is: $10.00

The Madawaska High School Girls’ Basketball Coaches in conjunction with the Madawaska Recreation Department will be presenting a 3-day Basketball Camp.  Coordinated by the Women’s Basketball Coaches of Maine Maritime Academy.  If you are interested in attending, please complete the form provided in back of the booklet and return it and the fee to either Mrs. Plourde at the High School or to the recreation department.  Actual times for the program will be determined after registration forms are returned.

 

 

         

 

 

        ARCHERY

 

AGES:  10 & UP

MONDAYS:    1:30  – 3:00 PM

FEE:Resident$ 5.00 Non-resident $6.00

            Basic Archery skills will be taught.  This sport can be a rewarding, lifelong activity which develops self confidence and discipline.  This course is designed to acquaint the beginning archer with rules, basic care and use of equipment.  All equipment will be provided. 

 

TENNIS TEAM

 

TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS

AGES:  5 – 7        1:00 – 2:15 PM

AGES:  8 & UP    2:30 -3:45  PM

FEE:Resident $5.00 Non-resident $6.00

Beginners will learn the basic skills of the forehand, backhand, serve and volley as well as rules and court etiquette.  Advanced beginners will continue to perfect the fundamentals while also learning doubles positioning and game strategy.   Games will be held with local County Teams and will end the season with a tournament in Presque Isle.

 

    PONY LEAGUE

All the boys who register will be placed on a team.  The team will have opportunities to play scheduled games against other towns in the Aroostook County League.

GAMES are scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1:00 pm

 

All the girls who sign up will be placed on a team.  The team will have opportunities to play against other communities both home and away games.  The season will end with a tournament in Ft. Fairfield. 

 

     T - BALL

T-Ball is a form of baseball which utilizes a batting tee rather than a pitcher. We will change to coach pitch (soft toss) as the season progresses It is an exciting game which will afford your children much enjoyment as well as teach the basic fundamentals of the game.  If enough little sluggers sign up, we will have our own mini version of little league. Teams will be formed and coaches will be needed. 

KIDS ALL AMERICAN

FISHING DERBY

                   Join us for a Walmart All American Fishing Derby.  This will be an exciting, fun filled day of fishing.  Kids ages 8-16 are invited to test their skill at the derby.  1st  2nd  and 3rd prizes will be awarded for the biggest fish.

             FISHING DERBY

 

              Come try your luck at catching the biggest fish at our 3rd annual Walmart Kids All American Fishing Derby.  This will be an exciting fun filled day of fishing for kids ages

7 – 16. 1st, 2nd, 3rd place prizes will be awarded to the avid fishermen with the biggest fish.  Here is an opportunity for families to spend a day together fishing and creating memories. 

       Pack a picnic lunch and a few snacks.  Bus leaves at 8:30 am.

        Sit back….relax…enjoy a fun movie on a big screen in the great outdoors.  Bring all your friends and family and join us at the Sky-Lite Drive-In for a great memorable evening.  Bring your own lawn chairs or build your own car, come to the Rec Dept. and our staff will be happy to assist you.             PENNY CARNIVAL

 

       Kids of all ages are invited to come and enjoy a morning of carnival fun and games.  Water Balloon Target Shoot, Mini Golf, Marshmallow Tournament Games and Lucky Ducky in a water pond, are just a few of many games that you will be able to play.  Relay races will also highlight the morning with races such as: three legged race, egg on spoon, wheelbarrow, hot potato or a baby carriage walk.

       Get sand in your shoes when you join us for our annual day at the beach with “surf and sand” activities for all.   You can also spend time in the sand with horseshoes, volleyball, Frisbee games or build a sand castle fit for any royal family. Restroom and changing rooms are available. Bring a bagged lunch and a change of clothes.   Bus leaves Multi-Purpose at 9:00 am and returns at 3:00 pm.

             WATER SLIDES

     

      Water Wizard Water Slides has fun for all ages!! For a minimal fee of resident $ 5.00

non-resident $ 6.00 per person,  kids ages 8 & up (younger if accompanied by an adult) can enjoy an entire afternoon of water slides at Yogi Bears Campground in Woodstock New Brunswick, which is located across the border from Houlton Maine.  Bring a bag lunch as we will be eating lunch when we get there.  A canteen is also available to purchase snacks.                                                                                         Bus will leave the Multi –Purpose center at 8:00am and return at 4:00 pm
