Zoning Board of Appeals

About Us
The Zoning Board of Appeals is a five (5) member and (2) alternate review board consisting of residents and registered voters of the Town and appointed by the Select Board. The board meets to hear administrative reviews and appeals where there is a zoning violation or error in any order, requirement, decision, or determination made by the Code Enforcement Officer. The Zoning Board also reviews applications for variances on a case-by-case basis, hears and decides appeals for conditional uses, and has the power to interpret provisions in the Town Zoning Ordinance.

Meetings
The Zoning Board of Appeals meets on an as-needed basis to review applications that have been submitted to the Code Enforcement Office. All scheduled meetings are held at the Madawaska Town Office, 328 St. Thomas Street in the Council Chambers, unless otherwise noted.  Meetings can be scheduled in advance at the discretion of the Board Chairman.
